A combination of converging winds and a northeast flow off Lake Michigan could give some enhanced lake-effect snow showers Thursday morning. As winds become westerly across the entire area, skies will gradually break during the afternoon. It will be nothing like they are experiencing in the mid-Atlantic and New England where 1-2 feet of snow will blanket that area.

Winds should pick-up out of the southwest Friday pulling milder air into our area and boosting afternoon temps into the lower 40s. This brief “warm-up” will be short-lived, as a cold front marches through giving cloudiness and rain or a rain/snow mix Saturday.

Temperatures moderate once again early next week, then Wednesday will mark a sharp downturn in temperatures opening the door to a very cold Christmas.
