A Longmont man accused of buying minors alcohol and sexually assaulting them in January 2023 was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison after entering a plea deal.

Timothy George Robichaud, 46, initially pleaded not guilty to sexual assault on a child — position of trust — victim under 15, sexual assault on a child by an adult in a position of trust — pattern, sexual assault on a child by an adult in a position of trust — victim between 15 and 18, sexual assault on a child — pattern of abuse, sexual assault of a child, two counts of sexual contact — no consent, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the second-degree, two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and habitual sex offender against children, a sentence enhancer.

On Friday afternoon, he pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child — possession with the intent to sell or distribute sexually exploitative material. Upon entering the plea deal, the remaining charges were dismissed.

Robichaud received 20 years in prison for each sexual exploitation of a child charge, which will run consecutively to each other, according to Boulder District Judge Thomas Mulvahill.

Mulvahill also said Robichaud will receive 713 days of credit for pre-sentence confinement.

According to an affidavit, on Jan. 28, 2023, Longmont police were called to a hospital to speak with a girl who had reported a sexual assault that occurred that night. The named victim told police she was at Robichaud’s home drinking alcohol he had provided when she fell asleep on a couch. Robichaud reportedly began kissing the victim’s neck and stomach before assaulting her.

The girl recalled crying during the assault, resisting when Robichaud reportedly attempted to remove her clothes and said she felt “unable to move” due to the alcohol she consumed. The minors who were in the home on the night of the alleged assault said Robichaud hugged them in a strange way, complimented their looks, told them they could call him ‘dad’ and rubbed their legs to wake them up.
