The Giants used their first two selections of the 2025 MLB draft on a pair of contact-oriented, middle-of-the-diamond position players by selecting Tennessee shortstop Gavin Kilen in the first round and Rutgers outfielder Trevor Cohen in the third round. On the draft’s second day, San Francisco will have 16 picks from rounds 4-20.

The Giants forfeited their second- and fifth-round picks by signing Willy Adames to a seven-year, $182 million deal.

Here is who the Giants selected on Day 2:

Fourth round (116th overall): Lorenzo Meola, SS, Stetson >> Meola, 22, spent three seasons at Stetson, where he had a slash line of .303/.390/.484 with 25 homers over 172 games. The shortstop’s strongest tool projects to be his defense, which MLB Pipeline rated as 60 on the 20-80 scouting scale.Meola is a cousin of USA soccer goalkeeper Tony Meola, who represented the United States at the 1990, 1994 and 2002 World Cups.

Sixth round (176th overall): Jordan Gottesman, P, Northeastern >> Gottesman pitched as a graduate student for Northeastern last season and was named a second-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. The 22-year-old lefty pitched 83.1 innings over 16 outings and racked up a 2.27 earned-run average, with 97 strikeouts and 17 walks.

Before going to Northeastern, he was the Commonwealth Coast Conference pitcher of the year in 2024 for Endicott College.

Seventh round (206th overall): Cameron Maldonado, OF, Northeastern >> The 21-year-old outfielder, also from Northeastern in Boston, slashed .351/.467/.631 in 2025 for the Huskies with 15 home runs and 29 stolen bases in 222 at-bats last season. Maldonado twice led the Coastal Athletic Association in stolen bases.

Eighth round (236th overall): Ben Bybee, P, Arkansas >> Bybee appeared in 18 games for the Razorbacks in 2025, allowing 18 runs over 37 innings. He struck out 42 batters and walked 15.

Ninth round (266th overall): Reid Worley, P, Cherokee HS (Georgia) >> The Giants’ first high school draft pick is the top right-handed pitcher in Georgia, according to Perfect Game. Worley, who has a low-90s fastball and a strong slider, verbally committed to Kennesaw State this spring.

10th round (296th overall): Isaiah Barkett, 2B, Stetson >> As a junior in 2025, Barkett led Stetson with 86 hits for a .389 batting average. He had 25 multi-hit games. He’s the son of former MLB first baseman and outfielder Andy Barkett.

11th round (326th overall): Rod Barajas Jr., C, Saddleback College >> The 21-year-old catcher is the son of the former MLB catcher and manager by the same name. He batted .329 over 45 games and caught six base-stealers in 30 attempts with 22 passed balls.

12th round (356th overall): Cody Delvecchio, P, UCLA >> Delvecchio, a right-handed junior for the Bruins, made eight starts this past season as he was ruled academically ineligible for part of the spring. He allowed 28 earned runs in 37 innings and started UCLA’s final game of the Men’s College World Series, allowing three runs in four innings to Arkansas.
