Norma "Nonnie" Hughes Berrettoni, who lived with breast and bladder cancers, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, kidney failure and many other ailments, and never complained, died at home in Woodland, California, on May 29, which was her best friend Lois's birthday.

She was 100, and had been under the watchful eye of the incredible nurses at Mercy Hospice, and her longtime home health care aide, Vika Naiyaga.

Norma was born on Jan. 30, 1923, in Woodland to Omega and Dulcie Buchignani (nee Sani). Warren G.

Her husbands, Robert Hughes and Romeo "Romey"

Berrettoni, preceded her in death, as did a grandson, Robert Hughes, and a stepson, George Berrettoni.

She is survived by a son, John Hughes (Sherrie), and a daughter, Jane Hughes Yeung. Grandsons Kevin Hughes, Mike Murphy Jr. and Nick Murphy survive her. She is also survived by stepdaughters Norma Berrettoni (Rick), Lynn Berrettoni (Andrew) and Kathy Berrettoni (George).

Step-grandchildren Mike Newman (Ryann), Dan Newman (Lindsay), Gina Berrettoni (Andrew), Mario Berrettoni, Mia Caglieris, Gabriella Caglieris (Tyler) and a step-grandchild, Harper Tucker, survive her. Treasured nieces and nephews do as well.

Later in life, she was blessed with bonus sons, the late Mike Murphy Sr. (Sheri) and John Puliz (Penee).

There will be a graveside service on Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at Monument Hill Memorial Park (35036 County Road 22, Woodland), followed by a luncheon at the Yolo Fliers Club (17980 County Road 94B, Woodland).
