Yemen war plans

Re “War plans text chat included journalist” (March 25):

Who hasn’t sent an email to someone in error and the person who received it in error wrote back and let you know you made an error.

Now, that’s a true gentleman or lady with some class. Not Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor of The Atlantic magazine. When he received a text from someone in the Trump administration in error he went directly to press waving the email with some classified information about an attack that was about to happen against the Houthis in Yemen.

He showed no class and in some circles it would be treason.

Shame on the Atlantic for keeping such a disgusting and traitorous individual on your staff.

Veterans’ mental health

I just read an article in the March 23 paper regarding “Trump and DOGE propel the VA mental health system into turmoil.” The veterans are the reason that we have a free country and I don’t understand why Trump, who is not a veteran, and Elon, who is not an elected official, have the right to go in and dismantle this department. He keeps saying he wants to make America great again, but what does that mean? We have achieved so much for this country. That’s why people used to want to come here because we offer so many diversities. He is not making America great again, he’s dismantling America to his liking so that he can be the king and have everyone bow down and kiss the ring.

My husband was a Vietnam vet and went to war for this country. I am so disappointed in this administration. It makes me sick to my stomach the things that he is doing.

Ukraine military aid

Re “Ukraine was never going to win” (March 23):

According to John Seiler’s column, all foreign military aid for Ukraine should stop as that country’s best way forward “is an immediate ceasefire.” Seiler may be right; it may be a war Ukraine cannot win. Nor could Estonia, Poland or most of the other countries Russia may have interest in. Following Seiler’s thinking, the moment Russia invades them, those countries should simply acquiesce to Russia’s dominance. Same for Panama, Greenland and Canada: if it’s something Trump wants, Trump gets. I’m not sure I want to live in Mr. Seiler’s world.
