Lotzza Motzza frozen pizzas, a shrimp processing machine and wool map blankets are not the “Coolest thing made in Minnesota,” according to voters.

Narrowed down from over 100 submissions, the competition for the title of “Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota” heats up this week as voters have 16 products to weigh in on.

The competition, hosted by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and BMO Bank, pits products against each other in a head-to-head format with voting open to the public.

A classic Minnesota showdown is taking place this week as Hormel Foods’ Spam takes on Scotch tape from 3M.

Other matchups this week include:

•Sugar from the American Crystal Sugar Co. versus a folding bow saw from Sven-Saw

•Action Trackchair, an all-terrain wheelchair, from Action Manufacturing versus an absorbable, single-use antibacterial envelope for implantable electronic devices from Medtronic

•JonnyPops’ frozen Rainbow Fruit Stacks versus EyeBOX, a device from Minnetronix Medical that tests for concussions

•A new snowmobile from Arctic Cat versus Rubber Track Conversion System from Mattracks

•The leather Beckman boot from Red Wing Shoe Co. versus EasyStand, a sit-to-stand device for people with physical disabilities

•Floating wetland islands from Midwest Floating Island versus Mozaic Transducer, a hard drive platform, from Seagate Technology

•Industrial 3D printer from Stratasys versus Nuclear Heat Exchangers from Super Radiator Coils

The top eight products will be announced on Sept. 23 with the final four revealed Sept. 30.

Voting is open to the public until Oct. 4 and the winner will be announced Oct. 8 at the 2024 Manufacturer’s Summit.
