A former employee of the School of Dance and Music in Hermosa Beach has been charged with child molestation and possession of child pornography after parents found hidden cameras inside restrooms at the school, authorities said.

On May 3, around 9:30 a.m., Hermosa Beach police responded to a call on the 1100 block of Aviation Boulevard. Parents at the school located hidden cameras placed in multiple unisex restrooms, and the cameras were handed over to authorities, police said in a news release.

The students at the school range from 2 years old to 18 years old.

On Friday, Hermosa Beach police arrested a former school employee, Jourdyn Godoy of Torrance. He was later charged with possession of child pornography, molesting a child and criminal invasion of privacy, according to the release.“(Godoy) was a former front desk staff member, a young adult in his 20s with no prior criminal history, who is no longer employed at our studio,” stated an email sent Tuesday to students’ parents and members of the school community.

“This individual has not been at the studio since the day of the discovery,” the email said.

School officials said they could not release any additional information until the police investigation has been completed.
