Shelly Ann (Gray) Weisser passed away at her forever home in Woodland on January 7,2025, at the age of 68 surrounded by her loved ones &three kitties. Shelly was a lifelong Californian born in Woodland, on February 4, 1956. Shelly lost her battle with lymphoma after battling the disease for numerous years, but she never chose to give up even at the end. Her strength and will have become a true inspiration to all that were close to her and will surely give us all strength as we mourn her loss.

She was truly a Woodland native with the roots of her parents' families going back to Woodland’s founding. As a young girl her passions were many in life especially when it came to the outdoors. She was raised to hunt, fish, camp and did so regularly while also spending her summers at an equestrian camp in Orme, AR, learning to ride horses and hone her survival skills. She also developed a strong love of cooking, beading, gardening and became quite the seamstress. Her parents built a family cabin in Soda Springs CA in the late 60’s, which quickly became a favorite place, where she, her mother, &son would become avid skiers in the winter. The summer months were spent at Long Lake and numerous other beautiful swimming holes and lakes. She has always found her spiritual solace in both the mountains and on the beaches of California especially at Pacific Grove and Drakes Bay. Traveling was also a favorite pastime and during her life she was able to see much of the continental US, Hawaii and Canada, along with many family trips down to Mexico as well.

Her love for art and especially pottery was very evident in her life, progressing even into her later years enjoying the creative process with some of her closest friends.

It was evident that throughout her life she was a natural caregiver, and this trait became prominent throughout her life and career as a Registered Nurse of 41 years. She specialized in the Labor &Delivery and NICU fields of nursing becoming well loved &respected for her knowledge and never-ending compassion for the people she served while making many friends along the way. This care-giver spirit spread to every facet of her life and is evident by the many friends and loved ones that she leaves behind. She was and will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, niece, cousin, nurse and friend to so many. No matter what her interests, passions or challenges were in life she has always managed to be a rock and support system for so many, and through her care-giving spirit she has touched the lives of many people. People could not help but be drawn to her natural warmth, beautiful laugh, kind eyes and heart. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten and always remembered with fondness and love.
