Oscar Herrera scored on a pass from Eric Vazquez in the 90th minute to help Cabrillo College’s men’s soccer team secure a 2-all draw with visiting Monterey Peninsula on Friday night in Aptos.

Alexsander Zamudio gave the Seahawks a 1-0 lead when he converted a pass from Pietro Bizzoni in the 22nd minute of the teams’ Coast Conference North Division match.

Upset-minded MPC (0-9-2, 0-2-2) tied the score at 1-all in the 60th minute and went up 2-1 in the 68th minute.

Each team received three yellow cards in the physical contest.

Goalie Christopher Jamrok made three saves for the Seahawks (7-1-2, 2-0-1), who host West Valley (6-4-1, 2-1-1) in a conference crossover match Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Women’s soccer

Cabrillo 2, at Cañada 0 >> Nellie Pintor scored the decisive goal on a pass from Andrea Estanquero in the 41st minute in a Coast Conference crossover match Friday.

Aubree Westjohn provided an unassisted tally, her 14th goal of the season, for some insurance in the 71st minute.

Goalie Jessica Zavala made 11 saves as the Seahawks posted their fourth win by shutout.

Cabrillo (5-5-1, 1-0-0) hosts Foothill (0-5-1, 0-2-0) in South Division action on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Girls cross country

Clovis Invitational >> Scotts Valley junior Ashlyn Boothby (17:44.3) placed seventh in the Championship Girls 5K at the Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno on Saturday. Montgomery sophomore Hanne Thomsen (17:04.2) finished atop the field of 139 runners.

Scotts Valley senior Amber Boothby won the Girls’ 5K Race 2 in 18:05.7 and helped the Falcons (158 points) place third out of 30 teams. Falcons freshman Ava Decleve (19:52.6) placed 10th.

Santa Cruz resident Evangeline Marheineke, a sophomore at Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, won the Girls’ 5K Race 1 in 18:16.6. It was a school record time for the distance. She helped the Monarchs (220) place sixth out of 21 teams.

Boys cross country

Clovis Invitational >> Scotts Valley senior Aiden Boothby (16:14.5) took 17th and helped the Falcons (165) place fourth in the Boys’ 5K Race 4 at the 5K Clovis Invitational in Fresno on Saturday. Falcons senior Jack Brownfield (16:27.6) took 24th.

Girls water polo

Soquel goes 2-0 in Central Valley >> The Knights went 2-0 in the Central Valley, beating Clovis 18-7 on Friday and Clovis West 13-10 on Saturday.

Quinn Healy had nine goals and five steals in the win over Clovis. Leah Murphy had three goals, two assists and three steals, and Ella Moker had two goals and three assists. Addison Lane, Summer Stelck, Olivia Harris and Amelie Stotland also scored.

Healy had four goals and three steals against Clovis West. Moker scored three goals, and Lane, Murphy and Stelck each scored twice.

Soquel (14-1) host SLV on Monday at 6 p.m.

Women’s volleyball

At Cabrillo 3, Ohlone 0 >> The streaking Seahawks won their fifth straight match 25-15, 25-15, 25-20 to stay unbeaten in Coast Conference North Division play Friday.

On Saturday, Cabrillo (6-5, 2-0) hosts Feather River at 11 a.m. and Fresno City at 3 p.m.
