Los Altos Hills
With deepest love and remembrance, the family of Donald Charles Zepp announces his passing at his home in Los Altos Hills on the morning of March 24, 2025, with his wife and children by his side. Don was born onAugust 18, 1932, the son of Walter and Mary Zepp. He died peacefully, with comforting prayers for passage offered by Pastor Smuts of Grace Lutheran Church in Palo Alto, CA.
Don was a graduate of Lock Haven State University in his home state of Pennsylvania. As a young college student, he enjoyed lifeguarding on the river and wrestling.
Don met his wife Barbara Ann James at the Lutheran Church in Lock Haven, PA. They were married on February 14, 1957 at the naval base in Vallejo, CA, where he was stationed on board the USS Rainier during the Korean war. He served as a navigator and legal officer.
Donald was a financial advisor for over 58 years, retiring with Morgan Stanley as Sr. Vice President in 2019.
Deeply regarded for his kindness, sincerity, and dedication to his work, he created genuine and long-term relationships with his clients and business colleagues.
A member and past president of Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club, Don enjoyed the sport of golf with family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Barbara, his sister Nancy Wildasin, and children James Zepp, spouse Cheryl and children Jennifer, Eric, and Daniel; Rebecca Zepp, son Aaron; Holly Zepp Spiers, sons Christopher and Zachary; great grandchild, Maira Spiers and Surasi Russell Jahanian.
Don, aka “Opa,” requested a family ceremony at Grace Lutheran Church in Palo Alto, with music and words by the pastor and choir director.
