Great column by Rochat
Thank you to Scott Rochat for the beautiful column on Monday, March 31. He implored all of us to use compassion, understanding and acceptance of others who are not able to stand for their own rights. Beautiful, Scott. Thank you.
Page 2 opportunity
April’s alcohol awareness month is a great opportunity for the TC to review its photo policies for its page 2 to-do list of local events. A photo of someone actually doing an activity would be more helpful and more helpful than a photo of a glass of beer or of people drinking.
Paying for abortions
Federal law says that US government will not pay for abortions. Then why do they provide half a billion dollars a year to Planned Parenthood whose prime function, by their own count, provides over 1,000 abortions per day on average?
Article stirred memories
While reading this morning’s article about COVID, it reminded me of when my close friend died. His wife decided to take them off the machine. My friend has been honored many times in this community, pointing out that we’ve not only lost relatives. We’ve lost members of the community that are important to us. Then, I remembered how I feel when Donald Trump referred to it as a hoax.
Who’s buying Teslas now?
Hang in there, gullible Democrat Tesla owners. Gullible Republicans who used to ridicule EV owners will ignore Musk’s hiel salute and start buying Teslas.
Move to Russia
For you loyal Trumpers, if you want to live under a dictatorship, please move to Russia. We don’t want one here. Alas, that’s what we’re getting.
Some similarities
I’m a senior woman, and I have a female friend who is a few years older than me. She talks constantly, and I feel like that’s kind of like Trump. He doesn’t let anybody get a word in edgewise, and so, even if his ideas are really wacko, he gets the last word always. I think people are just going to get tired of him, just like my friend’s neighbors get tired of her.
• He orchestrated a coup. He was a convicted felon. He rose to power on the wave of divisive propaganda and hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric. He promised to make things great again. He threatened to annex his neighbors. I’m referring of course to Adolf Hitler. The parallels are striking with him and Donald Trump.
