Passed away on October 7, 2023 at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; parents Josephine (Dorn) &amp; Fred J. Schmidt, brothers Jerome (Milly) &amp; William (Dorothy) &amp; sister Gerry Lou Turnquist. Fred is survived by his children Barb (Rod) Schoenfelder, Fred (Missy), Marty (Amy) and Rick (Michelle) Schmidt; and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Pingley; many nieces, nephews &amp; his companion of 12 years, Kaye Kraft. Fred was an avid Ham Radio operator &amp; golfer. He also loved to play bingo &amp; had a special talent for playing music without sheet music on the piano or organ. Fred also loved to tell a good joke &amp; was always smiling.<br><br>A memorial gathering will be held at Angelina’s Kitchen Italian Restaurant, 2170 Eagle Creek Lane, Woodbury, MN, on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 12pm (noon) to 3pm. Appetizers will be served.<div></div><br>
