The NFL announced fines for 26 players Saturday and Nick Bosa was not one of them.

That doesn’t mean Bosa won’t be fined.

Although the NFL declined comment through a spokesman, it has been reported the league is looking into Bosa wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat in in view of television cameras support of presidential candidate Donald Trump after the 49ers’ 30-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Jonathan Jones, an NFL on CBS insider and the Washington Post, no determination on a fine will be made until next week and any punishment will not include a suspension.

In other words, after the Nov. 6 election.

Article 8 of the NFL rulebook prohibits players from “wearing, displaying or otherwise conveying personal messages” and specifies “non-football” events such as causes or political campaigns. All such items are subject to NFL approval.

Bosa photobombed an interview with Melissa Stark and 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Isaac Guerendo and tight end George Kittle while wearing the hat.

In his postgame interview with the media, Bosa didn’t elaborate, saying only “I’m not going to talk too much about it. It’s an important time.”

The only player on the 49ers to be fined was linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, who was docked $10,750 for unnecessary roughness in the first quarter of the Dallas game.

Cowboys’ Elliott out for disciplinary reasons >> Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott didn’t make the trip to Atlanta and will miss today’s game for reasons the team didn’t disclose.

The announcement Saturday means Elliott will miss a game for the first time in eight seasons over two stints with the Cowboys for reasons other than injury, suspension or games where the stakes couldn’t justify using their lead back.

ESPN cited anonymous sources in reporting the absence was for disciplinary reasons.

Elliott, a two-time rushing champion for Dallas as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 draft, returned to his original team in the offseason after one year with New England. The Cowboys released Elliott in a cost-cutting move after the 2022 season.

The 29-year-old’s return hasn’t been very productive. Elliott is averaging a career-worst 3.1 yards per carry with 149 yards on 48 attempts. He has the only two rushing touchdowns by a running back for the NFL’s worst run game. Dallas (3-4) is averaging just 74 yards per game on the ground.

Dalvin Cook was elevated from the practice squad for the second consecutive week and should serve as the backup to Rico Dowdle against the Falcons (5-3). Dowdle was a late scratch in last week’s 30-24 loss to San Francisco because of an illness.

Elliott won both his rushing titles in his first three seasons. He led the NFL in yards rushing per game in the other year, when he was suspended for six games over domestic violence allegations.

In his first seven seasons with the Cowboys, Elliott missed just five games outside his suspension. Three were for injuries, and two were regular-season finales with the Cowboys already in the playoffs.

BROWNS’ TOP TACKLER ON IR >> Cleveland Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will miss at least four games after being placed on injured reserve with a neck injury sustained in a violent collision last week.

Cleveland’s leading tackler, Owusu-Koramoah had to be immobilized and carted off the field in the third quarter when he took the brunt of a big hit while tackling Ravens running back Derrick Henry. Owusu-Koramoah was hospitalized overnight.

He was at the team’s facility last week, and coach Kevin Stefanski said Owusu-Koramoah was doing well. However, he’ll be out for four games — and maybe longer — after going on IR.

A second-round pick in 2021, Owusu-Koramoah has 61 tackles, including 10 for loss. He has three sacks and Cleveland’s only interception.

The Browns (2-6) got some good news heading into today’s game against the Chargers (4-3) as top cornerback Denzel Ward was cleared from the concussion protocol. The three-time Pro Bowler suffered his sixth documented concussion last week and only returned to practice on Friday.
