Stop signs

I’m not sure anyone is going to believe this, but yesterday I actually saw two different vehicles stop for stop signs here in the city, and one of those was in a shopping center parking lot. I don’t know whether to go see my cardiologist first or my ophthalmologist.

Offensive comics

Perhaps the newspaper should strike a deal with the comic strip syndicates. Then they can rerun old strips in place of really offensive ones like Saturday’s “Wumo.”

Fairgrounds parking

Why doesn’t Longmont pave the parking lot at the farmers market and the event building? It is so muddy, and they lose people going to these events.

Affordable housing

It’s time for people who work in Longmont to be able to live in Longmont. The city is to remove the option that developers can pay a fee in lieu of the city’s requirement that 12% of the residential developments be affordable to low income buyers. Instead, the percent(age) needs to be increased by 15% and made mandatory. It’s all about the community we want to live in.

Putin and Ukraine

The more we say Putin will not win in Ukraine, the more he is determined to do so. Why can’t the government say this? We have to get him to leave Ukraine by saying something he won’t lose face for, like countries are in dire need of fuel, people are freezing, and only Putin can help by stabilizing the economy and getting fuel and food flowing again, by leaving Ukraine. Or something of that sort. We need to let him feel he’s doing the world a favor.

Now it’s fair

You say that your newspaper is fair and not left leaning? Well, for the last few days you keep printing in the TC Line comments that Fox News lies, lies, lies. Well, here’s something for you. My comment is, to be fair, MSNBC and CNN lie, lie, lie. So there now. It’s fair.

Jan. 6 footage

This is about Kevin McCarthy giving … video footage from the insurrection to Fox News and Tucker Carlson. How’s that even legal? What are we doing, just setting up our next insurrection here? What’s going on? The Jan. 6 committee was careful not to let out that information because it compromises our elected officials.
