SAN ANSELMO

Plan for new house comes back to board

The Planning Commission has scheduled a followup hearing on a proposal to build a home at 160 Spring Grove Ave.

The 21,850-square-foot property is on the hill south of Red Hill Avenue and Greenfield Avenue. The application requests a two-story, 2,491-square-foot house and an attached two-car garage, according to the town planning office.

The project would require a grading permit to move 600 cubic yards of material and variances for setback encroachments and parking. The Planning Commission reviewed the proposal in July and requested modifications to improve the “visual and physical integration with the site,” Jackson Dobronyi, a town planner, wrote in a staff report.

The commission is scheduled to hold a hearing on the project during its meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.

THE COUNTY

Volunteers named to advisory panels

The Board of Supervisors has approved appointments to six advisory boards.

The appointees were Sarah Miller and Lynne Stenzel, Bolinas Lagoon Advisory Council; Laura Trahan, Marin County Child Care Commission; Jonathan Frieman, In-Home Supportive Services Governing Board; David Sternberg, Kentfield Planning Advisory Board; Crystal Martinez, Marin County Women’s Commission; and Disha Divakar, Marin County Youth Commission.

Stenzel and Frieman were incumbents volunteering for new terms.

The supervisors approved the appointments at their meeting on Nov. 19.

SAUSALITO

City proclamation lauds restaurateurs

The City Council has passed a proclamation in honor of the Saylor family, the proprietors of Saylor’s Restaurant and Bar, which closed on Nov. 16 after 25 years in business.

“The modest ending was completely in character for owners Sean and Sonja Saylor, whose quiet generosity over the years has supported countless local organizations and events, from serving tacos at anchor-out health fairs to feeding volunteers at the Sausalito Art Festival,” the city said in an announcement. “In a note posted to the Saylor’s website, Sean and Sonja write, ‘COVID made us realize that life is short, and if we wanted to check off more boxes on our bucket list, we need to get started.’”

The proclamation invites Sean Saylor to be grand marshal of the city’s Independence Day parade next year.

LARKSPUR

Positions available on civic committees

The city is seeking applicants to fill vacancies on two advisory boards.

One appointee would represent the city on the Marin County Commission on Aging, which advises county supervisors on services for older residents. The appointee will finish the term of Barbara Miller, who resigned in August. The term expires on June 30, 2027.

The other vacancies are on the city’s five-seat Rent Review Board, which was created through the Rent Stabilization Ordinance.
