When the thought of people moving or the need to move a lot of stuff comes to mind, the consumer market tends to flock towards vehicles that can handle the capacity, but don’t break the bank. Historically, the Chevrolet Traverse or even the KIA Telluride come to mind, but for the cream of the crop, consumers always lean towards the long-lasting Ford Explorer. In Grasso’s Garage this week, a beautiful 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum 4WD wrapped in Agate Black Metallic.
With a 119-inch wheelbase and a 2.3L Ecoboost I-4 Engine producing 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, this 7-passenger people mover is ready for the roads. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Explorer and its long history in the consumer market, does exactly what it’s designed to do; move people, store things, be comfortable, look good and ride great.
Standard features on our Explorer Platinum include 20-inch wheels, crystal gray leather seats, a 12.3-inch LCD digital cluster and a 13.2”-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment. Upgraded equipment on our tester included Luxury Leather package, 10-spoke wheels, and BlueCruise, Ford’s autonomous driving capabilities.
In Grasso’s Garage, Ford is no stranger. Their long-lasting American manufactured vehicles have a great reputation, good ability and usage, while still maintaining a realistic price point. As a Ford Maverick owner myself, I am very familiar with Ford’s interior and appreciate how they layout usage items accordingly.
For the Explorer, it’s business as usual; America’s best selling SUV, that can carry 7-passengers and all of the family’s stuff making it a great utility to move people and things. Historically, resale values are strong in the Ford utility market including the Explorer and their fleet of best selling trucks earning them consumer satisfaction accolades for years. For the Ford Explorer Platinum, a great overall SUV that does the job, looks good, rides great and is fitting for today’s consumer market.
