L.A. riots
Your photo June 10 of a protester with a Mexican flag on our burning police unit says it all. I am a military veteran who gave up five years of my life to help protect and insure we maintain our rights and freedoms here in this great nation. Then I see people breaking the law, damaging property and demanding rights flying a foreign flag in my face. How about a peaceful protest and fly our great American flag. How about show me instead of forcing me.

Our eyes don’t lie
In the 2020 “ summer of love” Minneapolis riots it took Gov. Walz over three days to activate the National Guard, by that time destruction and damage was will out of hand, including burning down of a police station, estimates of a billion dollars state damage, along with deaths and injuries, most reports said. If the Guard was there sooner the damage would have been far less. As we watch this on TV, certain people tell us our eyes are lying to us: “It’s a peaceful demonstration?” In 1965 President Johnson (D) sent the National Guard to Alabama without the approval of Gov. Wallace (D). Yes, it has been done before by a president.

L.A. crisis and midterm elections
Manufactured by the White House, the crisis in L.A. is all about the coming midterm elections. Like many previous protests miscreants show up, vandalize, burn and cause damage. Chaos and cars burning lead the news cycle. Trump wants the photos and tape of burning cars and masked protesters waving Mexican flags. Should a cop or soldier be tragically killed, Trump will invoke the Insurrection Act, declaring Gov. Newsom has lost the ability to enforce the laws of California and keep the peace. God help us all if that happens.

Immigration raids in L.A.
Trump is using the chaos caused by his immigration raids to appeal to his bigoted base. He thinks it makes him look powerful. In reality, he is violating several articles of the Constitution. The Republican Congress and the majority of the Supreme Court are too spineless to call him out. This is how a dictatorship begins. It is also one more reason to make sure you vote in every election and throw out any Republican on the ballot.
