Anecito S. Bautista, Sr., 89, of Marina, peacefully passed away December 12, 2025; a devoted family man and proud Navy veteran. He was born May 29, 1936, in Bimaley, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Teodoro Bautista and Eusebia Sabiniano.

Anecito served 22 years in the U.S. Navy. He considered Vietnam his most memorable tour and fondly recalled the Unitas Ccruise in South America and voyages in the Red Sea. His family accompanied him to postings in Hawaii, Alaska and Florida. In the Navy he managed payroll and, while stationed in Alaska, ran the Navy Exchange. After retiring, he made his home in Marina and worked 24 years for Monterey County in financial roles. He was later recruited by former colleagues to work with the California Forensic Group and also managed the Fort Ord Theatre part time for ten years.

Anecito believed in hard work and always doing your best. He shared practical career advice and encouragement with younger family members and friends, taking special satisfaction in mentoring the next generation.

Past member of the Lions and Filipino American Clubs where he cherished the community and camaraderie they provided.

Family was his greatest pride. He and his wife, Pacita, celebrated nearly 67 years of marriage; in her final years he reassured her daily, “Honey, when I first met you I thought you were the most beautiful woman in the world, and you still are. I will love you forever.”

A natural dancer, Anecito frequently had partners waiting for a turn on the floor—sometimes leaving his wife with a playful tinge of jealousy. He enjoyed cooking; family favorites included his fried rice and special rice cake.

He adored their pets, Santino and Romeo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pacita C. Bautista; son Anecito “Chito” Bautista, Jr.; grandson Don Bosco Rivera; his parents, Teodoro Bautista and Eusebia Sabiniano; and three siblings, Alejandro (Martin) Bautista, Felimon Bautista and Sammy Bautista.

He is survived by his daughter Arlene “R’lene” Bautista; stepchildren Randy Reyes, Bobby Reyes, Terry Reyes and Ligaya Reyes Ibanez; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and siblings Aida Ramos, Lily (Lolita) Doria and Rodolfo Bautista.

Viewing: January 15, 1–7 p.m.; rosary 4–5 p.m., Mission Mortuary Chapel, 1915 Ord Grove, Seaside. Mass: January 16, 11:00 a.m., St. Jude Catholic Parish, 303 Hillcrest, Marina. Full military honors burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park.

Anecito’s warmth, steady presence, and stories of service left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his cheerfulness, caring nature, intelligence, confidence, and willingness to help—especially his family.
