Stephen Curry will miss at least the next two games for the Warriors nursing an injured ankle that he hurt in a loss to the Clippers on Sunday night.

Curry had an MRI exam after the game and it showed no structural damage and revealed a left peroneal strain. The team said he would be reevaluated Friday. He will miss at least two games.

The 36-year-old two-time MVP and NBA all-time 3-point leader is beginning his 16th season and has dealt with regular ankle issues on both feet.

College football: Indiana coach Curt Cignetti said Monday he remains “optimistic” starting QB Kurtis Rourke will return to the lineup for the 13th-ranked Hoosiers’ road game against Michigan State. Rourke had surgery on his injured right thumb and missed last weekend’s 31-17 win against Washington.

NFL: The groin injury that QB Jordan Love sustained during the Packers’ 30-27 road win against the Jaguars on Sunday isn’t expected to keep him sidelined long term, ESPN reported. Tests didn’t show any major damage, and the injury is just a strain. Love’s availability for the team’s upcoming game against the Lions remains unclear. ... The Chiefs acquired pass rusher Joshua Uche, 26, in a trade with the Patriots for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.

Soccer: Spanish midfielders Rodri and Aitana Bonmatí won the Ballon d’Or award for the world’s best players in men’s and women’s soccer. Rodri, 28, helped Manchester City win the Premier League and was a key player in Spain’s European Championship triumph. He succeeded eight-time winner Lionel Messi of Argentina. Bonmatí, 26, retained her award after helping Barcelona win the Spanish league, the Spanish cup and the Champions League.

WNBA: The Sun fired coach Stephanie White, 47, after two seasons in which she led the team to semifinal playoff appearances.
