Pride in the Park kicked off its fourth year of festivities on Saturday, welcoming hundreds to the Slab and George Hix Plaza for food, drinks, and live music.

Organizer Jenn Bass thanked volunteers from a stage at the Slab before turning her message to one of inclusion and safety for all people, including LGBTQ+, who have been the target of violence.

Vendors set up booths offering resources for mental health and addiction, while face-painting booths for younger attendees and a drag show for the 18-plus crowd added to the colorful event.

The Estes Park United Methodist Church donated the funds to paint the large-scale butterfly artwork on display, and also set up a booth to mingle with event-goers.

“Nine years ago, we voted to be an open and affirming church. And, Ann Lantz is our pastor and is married to Agnes. So, we decided that we were also able to have a gay pastor. She’s been with us for 5 years,” said Dale Beck of the EPUMC. Beck added, “We want to put the message out there that God loves everyone.”
