If all the red-light cameras are to make us safer, how come they're not at all the schools in Chicago that are on main streets? As an example, St. Camillus Parish on the north side of Midway Airport. That's very interesting.

Don, Chicago

Gambling cafes are quickly becoming a growing part of our south suburban landscapes. There are obvious drawbacks of gambling being so easily accessible, but a bigger concern is that there is only so much money to go around. How much will already struggling businesses lose when people have that much less money to spend elsewhere? This trend is a game of chance, which could come back to bite us with more empty storefronts and foreclosures on homes.

Tinley Park

Republican House Ways and Means Committee Chair U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, blocked a vote that would have protected seniors' health care from the price increases that are built into TrumpCare. Under TrumpCare, as it is currently written, insurance companies could charge seniors up to five times what they charge young people. This will cause seniors to pay up to 60 percent more for their insurance. Well done, President Donald Trump voters.

William, Oak Lawn

I want to give President Donald Trump some time but it looks like this isn't working out so well. Each day just gets more perplexing. You can't blame the media for everything. Looks like there probably won't be a wall after all, erroneous tweets continue to pile up, no answer to fraudulent voter claim, and now looks like new health care is not only going to be more expensive than ACA but millions will lose Medicaid coverage. Immigration plan is still not done so all the bad guys are getting in before it gets in place. Afraid to see what the next 100 days will bring.

We've noticed Tinley Park is replacing residential street signs with new ones having lowercase letters. This makes the signs harder to read from a distance, and it is a waste of taxpayer money.
