Veteran of Both WW II and Korean War

James A. Filice passed away in Santa Cruz on August 8, 2003. He was 80 years of age and the beloved husband of his wife Aimee. James was a graduate of San Jose State University and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

During WWII, Mr. Filice was a Navigator and served in the European theater of war. He completed 35 missions Nov. 9th, 1944 and received the Air Metal, the Distinguished Flying Cross and received Three Oak Clusters.

In 1951 James was re-called into active duty as a Navigator First Lieutenant for Air Transport during the Korean War. He was released from active duty in 1953.

James went on to become a math teacher at Buchner High School in Santa Clara and retired in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his brother Leroy Felice, sisters-in-law Lorretta DiSalvo and Ramona Joseph, his brothers-in-law George, William and Les Joseph. Also his nephews Mark Felice and Jim Joseph among many more.
