Life summary: Michael Dale McClendon was born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 21, 1941 but later moved to California, where he attended San Jose State University and was passionate about track & field. He had many careers throughout his life, including working as a recruiter for Apple during the early days of the company and owning his own business, Nibbles deli in Santa Cruz.

Memorable moments and accomplishments: Michael's passions included Hawaiian music, ukulele crafting, and coin collecting. He enjoyed travel, diverse cuisines, Warriors basketball, beaches, and seafood. A skilled woodworker and purveyor of "dad jokes," he cherished community and connection, participating in church, music groups, and Hawaiian clubs.

Surviving family: Mike is survived by his son and three daughters and their partners, Kerry, Tara, Katie, Marti, Melissa, Patrick, and Molly. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Madyson and Truman Hile, and Avery McClendon. He is remembered by his brother, Curtis McClendon, and his sister-in-law Gloria, and their daughters, Dawn, Darcy, Alaina, and Andrea. He is preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Hoyt, his wife Pamela Mc- Clendon, and his niece Shelley McClendon.

Funeral/Memorial details: The memorial service to honor Mike’s life will be held Saturday, April 26th at Seacliff State Beach (lower-level picnic area) at State Park Drive in Seacliff CA from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Please dress for the weather. Casual and Hawaiian themed attire encouraged.
