• Valley Oak Wealth Management raised more than $14,000 for St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin at its annual “Big Shred” event at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato on April 12. The event was attended by hundreds of people, including Miriam Connaughton, of Mill Valley; Anne and Tim Russell, of Novato; and Rich Gallagher, Christine Paquette, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin, and Judith Walsh-Cassidy, all of San Rafael.

• The Marin History Museum raised $200,000 at its 90th anniversary gala at the Mill Valley Community Center on March 30. The event, attended by more than 225 people, included an induction ceremony for the museum’s inaugural class of “Extraordinary Women of Marin,” selected for their contributions to the Marin community.

Inductees were Ann Batman, a member of Marin History Museum’s board of directors; Mary Jane Burke, former Marin superintendent of schools; Berta Campos-Anicetti, former director of Latine Programs at North Marin Community Services; Sushma Deva Taylor, president and chief executive officer of Center Point, Inc.; Felecia Gaston, founder of the Marin City Historical and Preservation Society and Performing Stars of Marin; Jill Giacomini Basch, Lynn Giacomini Stray and Diana Giacomini Hagan, co-owners of Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co.; Susan Gilardi, business partner and philanthropist at Gilardi & Co.; Sandra Guldman, president of Friends of Corte Madera Creek Watershed; Terrie Harris-Green, executive director of Marin City Climate Resilience and Health Justice; Ann Itakura Aversa, president of the Outdoor Art Club’s board of directors and owner of La Ginestra; Heidi Krahling, founder and owner of Insalata’s; Heidi Kühn, founder of Roots of Peace; Ann Mathieson, founder and former chief executive officer of Marin Promise Partnership; Cheryl Paddack, chief executive officer of North Marin Community Services; Christine Paquette, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County; Nicola Pitchford, president of Dominican University of California; Melissa Prandi, president and chief executive officer of Prandi Property Management; Andrea Schultz, president and chief executive officer of Greenbrae Management Inc.; Maria Socorro Romo, executive director of West Marin Community Services; Mary Kay Sweeney, former executive director of Homeward Bound of Marin; Julia Violich, board member of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition and vice president and chief financial officer of Violich Farms; Nikki Wood, founder of Marin Magazine; Susie Woodall, commissioner of the Marin County Athletic League; and Cecilia Zamora, executive director of Latino Council.
