Age 69 of Cottage Grove, MN Earned his angel wings on December 25, 2025. Jim is survived by his loving wife Karen, best friend Ava (his dog); sons Jeremy (Abbey), Chris, and Josh (Amanda) Zach; grand children Harlow, Aria, Brady, Grayson, Jonah, and Zoey; stepchildren Bob (Leah) Burns and Kelly (Lance) Vo; bonus grandchildren Hunter, Jaxson, Alexis, Logan and Brynley. He is also survived by brother Joey (Barb) Zach, sister Dee (Bob) Dyke, and sister-in-law Kristi Johnson, as well as many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Zach, his mother, Patricia Bittle, and his brother, Terry Zach.

Jim was an aircraft mechanic for almost 42 years, starting out at Hughes Airway, then merging with Republic Airlines. He then moved onto Northwest Airlines, to their final merge with Delta Airlines. He also volunteered his time for 10 years at Good in the Hood Food Shelf.

Jim will be remembered for his love of God, easy-going, laidback spirit, funny sense of humor, helping those in need, and his love for animals. Some favorite pastimes include being with friends, family, and animals and playing with his grandchildren.

Some other favorites were reading his Bible every morning, taking Ava on her daily walks, lifting weights, and spending summertime up north.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of life will be at River Heights Vineyard Church on Sunday, January 18th at 3:30 p.m. 6070 Cahill Ave., Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076.
