Freddie Freeman broke up a scoreless game with an eighth-inning sacrifice fly and six Dodgers relievers completed the shutout after starter Tyler Glasnow left with lower leg cramps one pitch into the fifth inning as visiting Los Angeles beat the Texas Rangers 1-0 on Sunday.

Pinch-hitter Will Smith led off the Dodgers’ eighth against Chris Martin (0-3) with a single. Smith advanced to second on Shohei Ohtani’s walk, moved to third on a deep fly out, and scored on Freeman’s fly to deep left.

Wyatt Langford was thrown out trying to steal second base to end the game.

Rangers starter Tyler Mahle pitched seven scoreless innings allowing two hits.

Brewers 14, Athletics 1 >> Rhys Hoskins went 3 for 5 with a homer, four RBIs and one of Milwaukee’s franchise-record nine steals and Logan Henderson recorded nine strikeouts in his major league debut as the Brewers trounced the visiting Athletics.

Six of the Brewers’ steals came in the first.

Brice Turang scored three runs and stole three bases to help the Brewers win the rubber match of this series.

Henderson (1-0) allowed just three hits and one run in six innings.

Yankees 4, Rays 0 >> Max Fried lost a no-hit bid in the eighth inning when the official scorer changed an earlier decision to a hit, and New York went on to beat host Tampa Bay.

Rookie Chandler Simpson hit a grounder into the hole between first and second with one out in the sixth and reached when the ball bounced off the glove of first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. Official scorer Bill Mathews at first called the play an error,

Fried was hitless through seven innings and was about to throw his first pitch of the eighth when Mathews announced he changed the decision to an error.

Jake Mangum then led off the eighth with a clean single to center. Fried (4-0) allowed two hits in 7 2/3 innings.

Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger and Austin Wells hit solo homers.

Reds 24, Orioles 2 >> Noelvi Marte hit his first career grand slam, off Baltimore infielder Jorge Mateo, and had seven RBIs, Austin Wynn drove in a career-high six and visiting Cincinnati embarrassed the Orioles.

Marte finished with five hits including his homer off Mateo, who entered during the eighth inning of the blowout to spare Baltimore’s bullpen. Wynn added a three-run homer off catcher Gary Sanchez in the ninth for a Reds team that pounded out 25 hits.
