Apartments
Why is our City Council pimping out Longmont to developers building apartments by the thousands? Are these developers providing roads, a rec center, parks, bike or walking trails? $2,000 per month for a one bedroom, one bathroom, really? Who can afford that? Have you tried to drive Ken Pratt, Main or Hover at 3 p.m.? It’s bumper to bumper. ... We need a moratorium on these stack(s) of shacks that we’re building here. ...
Annexation
• I see the City Council deferred discussion on the proposed development off of Clover Basin since 25 people signed up to speak out against it. I guess they’re just hoping to defer it until not enough people show up to protest it. I recommend the citizens of Longmont recall every member of the City Council. Start the petitions to recall every member of the City Council. They’re not representing the citizens of Longmont.
• I’m calling about the headline, “Council seeks more input on annex.” Well, let me tell you, not one person that I know or have read is in support of any more development in Longmont. I don’t know how they think they need more input. The only one that wants more development are the builders and the council. … So, that’s my input for the City Council. Stop the growth.
• I see where the City Council is seeking more input on the annex on Quail Road. Maybe they should read the TC Line every day, and then they’ll see how much the people of this town are against so many apartments. It’s easy enough for them to do. It went until 11 o’clock last night. That tells you a lot right there, and they just need to pay attention to what the citizens of this town want. They’re over-building this town. Do something with the infrastructure.
Cage free
I’m glad the article about egg farming pointed out that chickens in cage free facilities have worse lives than those in cages. I wish our legislature would research these things before voting.
