Resident of Alamo

The brightest light in Alamo, California no longer shines. Kathy (Kathleen) McCorduck left this "Camelot" on March 3, 2025. She was surrounded by her family in her home as we all said good bye. She was aloving and supportive wife to John. She was the proud and loving mom to four terrific children who in turn loved her dearly; Kelly (Scott), Brittany (Nick), Brian (Emily), and Blaire. She was a loving grandmother to Ella, Sam, Griffin, Reagan, Kate, Teddy, Tatum, Will, Callan, Sienna, Johnny, Olivia, and Elliot whom all called her their Ya Ya.

She also leaves behind her sister Ann (Ray) and an abundance of nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents Melba and Tom Klinefelter, her brother, Tim, and her sister, Trisha.

Kathy entered this world on March 10, 1944 in Seattle, Washington. She was a graduate of San Jose State University in 1967. While there this cute little Coed met her husband to be. They were married on November 7, 1970.

For the first five years of their marriage, she commuted to Menlo Park (Stanford Research Institute) every day at 6:30 am from Alameda, their first residence, arriving home at 5:30 pm until after eight months of pregnancy she was advised to no longer commute. At that point John was becoming established in business. They shortly hereafter moved to Danville giving birth to their second child. Eighteen months thereafter another baby was born followed by a move to Alamo. Then came another baby until they had four babies all under the age of six—which made for fun and exciting times. One last move followed within Alamo until they found a home that could accommodate.

She led an active life with the following: She took up long distance running until she achieved her goal of completing a half marathon; with her mountain bike she road the streets of Danville and Alamo; she snow skied after depositing the kids in ski school; as amember of Roundhill Country Club she played countless hours of tennis; later in life she could be found playing nine holes on a Friday and Sunday afternoon at Roundhill; she attended shows and the speaker series at the Lesher Regional Theater (she and John were charter subscribers). She chaired the Roundhill swim team for two years. She was a past president of the National Charity League. Despite all her involvements her family was her priority. She was the “Uber” until her kids could drive. She loved family gatherings whom journeyed from Sacramento and San Jose to Alamo to enjoy barbecuing and swimming. She enjoyed having her immediate family with her at their Northstar home during the summer and Christmas seasons.

She fought a courageous fight with breast cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

She brought love and patience to all. There will never be another like her. She is so missed. Rest in peace my love. A private family gathering will take place to celebrate her life.
