ANN ARBOR >> Michigan has started three quarterbacks this season, but head coach Sherrone Moore is not saying who will lead the offense on Saturday against Michigan State.

Davis Warren was the starter the first three games, Alex Orji the next three and Jack Tuttle in the loss at Illinois last Saturday. Michigan is 4-3 and 2-2 Big Ten, and what has defined this team has been turnovers. The Wolverines have 15 and are tied for 117th nationally in turnover margin. The three quarterbacks have a combined to complete 61.2% of passes with six touchdowns and a glaring nine interceptions.

The Wolverines face Michigan State (4-3, 2-2) at Michigan Stadium on Saturday night.

“We’ll see as we practice this week,” Moore said Monday at his weekly news conference when asked who will start at quarterback.

Moore said it won’t be difficult to game plan for any of the quarterbacks, despite their differing skillsets.

“You have a game plan,” Moore said. “You have different things that guys are better at and that you’ll feature for individual people, but we definitely have a process for what we’ll go through and how we’ll go through installing it all.”

Michigan is among the nation’s worst offensive teams. The Wolverines are 119th in total offense (308.6 yards), 129th in passing (128.3), and 112th in scoring (21.0 points). They are 45th in rushing, averaging 180.3 yards a game.

Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell will continue as play-caller, Moore said. Campbell had called the game from the press box the first six games, but was on the sideline at Illinois. It’s unclear if he will be on the field again for the MSU game.

“We’ll see,” Moore said. “I think it was good especially for the quarterbacks seeing him face to face and being on the field.

From my own experience as a play-caller, being on the field really helped me, but we’ll just go through the week and figure out what we think is best for the crew.”

The Wolverines are returning to Michigan Stadium after playing the last two games on the road, both losses. Michigan State snapped a three-game losing streak last Saturday with a 32-20 win over Iowa.

“It’s a huge game,” Moore said. “You’re playing Michigan State.

“It’s a rivalry, it’s the in-state rivalry, and everything’s on the line. We’ve got to keep Paul Bunyan here. There’s a lot of pride in that trophy, there’s a lot of pride in this rivalry, and we’re going to do everything we can to win.”

Kickoff set
