Vallejo’s Georgia Street will soon be transformed into Glow Vallejo, a new event set for March 14.

Glow Vallejo, advertised as “more than just an event — it’s a celebration of creativity, community and wonder,” will feature music and light displays by event planning organization The Ever Wonder and in partnership with the City of Vallejo.

“It’s the first ever, and will be a really cool experience,” says Sarah Beth Wiley, Art Director for The Ever Wonder.

Glow Vallejo is set to feature DJ Strategy and DJ Lando Uno, lights and displays by two metal and fire show groups — the San Francisco-based Flaming Lotus Girls and Vallejo’s own Obtainium Works.

Suite Treatments, an event design company founded by Jaqueline Barsotti, who also founded The Ever Wonder, is supplying mirrors, light-up displays and tables for the event, says Wiley.

Chelu Car Club will be showing around 12 specially lit-up cars at Glow Vallejo, says Wiley.

Glow Vallejo will also highlight two local filmmakers on Georgia Street, one showcasing student films, as well as Corey Abrams, who plans to make a film, “Light of Vallejo,” at the event, says Wiley.

Abrams, known as Splash has made a name for himself as a videographer for LaRussell and his music label Good Compenny. “He will be filming ‘shadow dancing’ against a colorfully backlit screen,” says Wiley.

Glow Vallejo is in part presented by the City of Vallejo, a collaboration that put on the Winged Migration Expo in January and has plans for more events throughout the coming year.

Earth Daze, an event to celebrate Earth Day, is set for April 26 while information on the Vallejo Kite Festival later this year has yet to be released.

But Glow Vallejo isn’t the only draw to downtown on March 14. This month’s Art Walk is set at the same time just a block over, this month celebrating Women’s History and women-owned businesses.
