Aptos

Scott David MacDonell long time resident of Aptos, CA passed away on December 22, 2024. He was born on July 13, 1953 in Santa Cruz. His family relocated to Fresno, CA., but he returned to Santa Cruz to became astudent at Cabrillo College. There he developed a strong interest in building and carpentry. While he furthered his education, he bartended at various establishments from CB Hannegans in Los Gatos and others in Aptos. His career began as a carpenter which evolved into superintendent of many public works projects. These included libraries, schools in the Bay Area and his last proud accomplishment was the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District Operations Facility.

Scotty led a life full of love, kindness and hard work. He had a huge heart. He will be missed by so many who knew him here in Santa Cruz County. He is survived by his son Ryan MacDonell, brother Steve MacDonell and his wife Ilma, and step daughter Lindsay Miller A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
