Born and raised in Madison, Minnesota, passed away on May 3, 2025. Preceded by father Jalmer; mother Josephine; and sisters Carol, Jean, Elsie, Jalma, and Sylvia.

Survived by loving wife Mary Jo; children Cindy, Teresa, Kenny, Karen, Jonas, Joelle and many relatives.

Jim was an engaging and resourceful man who was always eager to lend a helping hand. He was a jack of all trades and a wearer of many hats.

Late in life, he fought many illnesses with his characteristic Norwegian stubbornness. Jim was 39 years sober in 2025 and appreciated the friendship of his AA support group.

He enjoyed family gatherings and card games, particularly cribbage and Pinochle. In the last months of his life, Jim looked forward to heaven.

We hope he’s looking down on us from a nice seat.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 29th from 3:00-6:00PM at the Eagan Community Center.
