The Nixon Foundation hosted the 5K to mark Title IX’s enactment.
When President Richard Nixon signed Title IX into law 51 years ago, the landmark legislation prohibiting sex discrimination led to the expansion of female participation in athletics.
Celebrating Title IX’s breakthrough for females and sports, the Nixon Foundation hosted a 5K race as part of its anniversary events last year and brought the event back on Saturday.
Participants ran and walked Yorba Linda’s El Cajon Trail from the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum.
