Malia Grace Doran was born on September 9, 2024 and baptized and confirmed September 10, 2024.
She was taken from us by God much sooner than we had hoped on November 10, 2024 at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. In her short but impactful time with us, Malia touched the hearts of many. Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), she faced more challenges than many of us do in a lifetime, showing us a strength like no other.
From the moment she existed, her life was precious and we fought to give her the life she deserved, no matter how brief or difficult. She loved being snuggled and kissed by her family and enjoyed holding her octopus stuffie.
While our hearts ache that her time with us was so short, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, fully healed and embraced by Jesus. Her life reminds us that every life, no matter its length, is priceless and full of meaning. We will carry Malia’s memory with us always. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
We, the Doran family, are deeply grateful to all who lifted us in prayer and supported us. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the CVCC team at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis for their exceptional care of Malia.
Malia was preceded in death by her two unborn siblings; her uncle, John Doran; and her great-uncle, Br.
Michael Gaworski, fbp, all of whom lived lives much shorter than we had hoped. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Lawrence & Eileen Doran, Joseph & Verona Hofmann, Richard Gaworski, and Leander Knott; great-uncle, Richard Meyers; and great-aunt, Constance Doran. Malia is forever loved by her parents, Tony & Krista; big sisters, Lola and Amara; grandparents, Dennis & Patti Doran and Joe & Cherlyn Gaworski; greatgrandmothers, Wynona Gaworski and Rosalie Knott; aunts and uncles, Joe & Gabby Doran, Tim & Callie Doran, Rachel & Evan Poitra, Lanita & Nate Brandt, Nathan Gaworski, and Neil Gaworski; 16 cousins; and many other loved ones.
