Born June 7, 1928, in Ozone Park, Queens, New York, the daughter of Lois (Calhoun) and James Brown. Kathleen passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025 at the age of 97 years young in Portland, Oregon.

Shortly after her birth, the family to the Mason City, Iowa area. The family then later moved from Iowa to Boring, Oregon in 1934. She graduated from Sandy High School in Sandy, Oregon. In 1952 she married Harold Looney of Molalla, Oregon where they resided until 1954. Her son, Gary Looney, was born inSilverton, Oregon in 1953. Harold worked for Willamette Iron and Steel at the shipyards on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon.

The family moved to the small town of Cloverdale, California in 1954 where they purchased a home and raised their son.

Kathleen was a stay-at- home mother and homemaker.

Christmas was Kathleen's favorite time of the year where she decorated their home and baked all the holiday favorites.

Kathleen was born Hebrew and celebrated Christmas and Hanukkah each year throughout her life.

She devoted her entire life to raising her son who she loved most dearly.

She was always seen gardening and tending to her yard and fruit orchard at their home in Cloverdale. Kathleen and her late husband, Harold, enjoyed traveling the world. Their travels took them to Australia and the South Pacific Islands, Alaska, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean including trips to the Holy Land. Jerusalem was her favorite and visiting "The Wall". Other trips took her to England and Ireland and a trip to London with her sibling, Georgia and her husband Gene. She especially fell in love with Sydney, Australia and Hobart, Tasmania which she had the opportunity to visit twice and New Zealand. She really enjoyed the Autumn colors of New England where she visited Eastern Canada and the New England states.

Harold and Kathleen for their 50th Anniversary enjoyed a cruise around the world, a gift given to them by their son and a Bon Voyage part with friends and relatives held at the Bankers Club in San Francisco.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Gary Looney, (Catherine Warshaw-Looney, daughter-in-law). She is also survived by only one remaining sibling, Sandra Young of Boise, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Looney, her brother, James Brown, her sisters, Charleen Weber, Norma Atkinson, Georgia Stockman and Jean Chrisner.

She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews including, Ron Stockman of Windsor, California, Kelly Stockman-Bell of Half Moon Bay, California, Steve Stockman of El Granada, California, Connie Nolan of Medford, Oregon, Susan Layman of Portland, Oregon, Alfred Weber of Molalla, Oregon, Trent Young, Tanya Young and Derreck Young, of Boise, Idaho and numerous friends from over sixty years in the Cloverdale community.

Kathleen is interned at the Zion Memorial Cemetery in Canby, Oregon alongside her husband, Harold Looney and numerous other family members which surround her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
