School district offers proposed math materials review

The Boulder Valley School District is offering an opportunity for the public to review its proposed new elementary math materials through April 18.

To review the materials recommended for adoption by the school board, email lisa.chinnery@bvsd.org to request digital access or to make an appointment to view the materials in person at the BVSD Education Center at 6500 E. Arapahoe Road in the Boulder area.

Apartment complex sells for almost $80M

Two real-estate investment trusts with similar roots have been involved in the sale of a 221-unit Boulder apartment complex for nearly $80 million.

Boulder Creek Apartments, a mix of one- and two-bedroom units at 3455-3605 Table Mesa Drive, was sold by Air/Bluffs LLC for $79,548,400 to CP Boulder Creek LLC. The sale closed March 25.

Both companies are listed at 4582 S. Ulster Blvd. in the Denver Tech Center and can trace their roots to Apartment Investment and Management Co., or Aimco.

Air/Bluffs is registered to Apartment Income REIT Corp., known as Air Communities, which was spun off from Aimco. The purchaser, CP Boulder Creek LLC, is registered to Big 4 Properties, which was founded by former senior executives of Air Communities and Aimco.

According to the apartment complex’s website, the property has two swimming pools, a hot tub, 24-hour fitness center, onsite recycling, a pet park, outdoor fireplace lounge and barbecue grills. The units feature washers and dryers, private patios or balconies, General Electric kitchen appliances and large closets.

High school after-prom event seeks donations

The organizers of the after-prom event set for 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, for Boulder and Fairview high schools are seeking $55,000 in donations, according to a press release.

The after-prom event is a drug and alcohol-free event meant to keep teens safe on prom night by providing activities, food, entertainment and transportation. It will be at the East Boulder Recreation Community Center, 5660 Sioux Drive, and could be attended by hundreds of students. It is funded and staffed by local volunteers, families and businesses and supported by Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty.
