The football programs at Fairview and Erie threw down 50-pieces in their Week 10 wins on Friday night.
They’ll wait to see if that’s enough to clinch a first-round bye in next week’s start to the Class 5A postseason.
For everyone but 3A, the football playoffs start on Thursday. Coming into their final game of the regular season, the CHSAA 5A No. 7 Knights and No. 8 Tigers were slotted as the final two teams to get a first-round bye in 5A’s 24-team playoff projection.
Fairview (10-0) followed it up with a 52-0 win over No. 28 Rocky Mountain, finishing a full regular season undefeated for the first time since 2014. Erie (8-2), the reigning 4A champs, beat No. 33 Horizon, 50-18.
In Week 10, teams from Broomfield and the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts finished 11-4 ahead of Saturday.
