Kenneth Jack Marshall, a beloved figure in Marin County, passed away on June 2, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on November 29, 1937, Kenny, as he was affectionately known, lived a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and countless accomplishments.

He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and community.

A true Marin County native, Kenny spent his entire life in the area, becoming an integral part of its fabric. He began his career as a police officer in San Anselmo. Later, he transitioned to become a firefighter with the Ross Valley Fire Department, where he became part of a strong brotherhood and forged lifelong friendships.

Kenny's impact extended beyond his public service. He was a skilled and creative builder, crafting numerous houses in Fairfax and across Marin County. In 1989, he embarked on a special journey, purchasing and reviving the historic Rancho Nicasio, a venture that captured his heart and allowed him to connect even more deeply with the local community.

Family was at the center of Kenny's life. He shared over 28 years of love and companionship with his devoted wife, Terrie Marshall, and they created a loving home together.

Kenny was a dedicated father to his children, Lisa Johnson (Steve), Rick Marshall ( Jolie), and Shannon Owen (Chris), and although he experienced the heartache of losing his son David Marshall (Hope)(Cammie) in 2011, his love for all his children never wavered.

Kenny's family expanded to include his cherished grandchildren, Nicole Thayer (Sam), Melanie Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Winston Ortiz, Madalena Owen, and Frances Marshall. These young souls brought immense joy to his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Their laughter and love filled his days, and he took pride in being a source of support and inspiration in their lives.

Kenny's enduring love extended to his many nieces and nephews, his sister, Patti Raino, his brother Robert Marshall (deceased), his mother-in-law Mary Davalos, and his sister-in-law, Mitzie Davalos, and his brother-in-law Henry Davalos (who passed in April), creating strong bonds that brought comfort and companionship throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 23rd, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Marin Rod and Gun Club. Family, friends, and the broader community will come together to honor his memory, sharing stories, laughter, and the deep sense of connection that Kenny brought into their lives.

In remembrance of Kenny's life, it is clear that his legacy will forever be marked by his love for family, his dedication to his community, and his unwavering spirit of togetherness.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him, and his memory will continue to inspire kindness, unity, and the importance of cherishing those we hold dear.
