SUNNYVALE — A man was shot and killed Thursday in Sunnyvale, according to authorities.

Gunshots were reported about 7:40 p.m. at a home in the 900 block of South Wolfe Road, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

Officers arrived to find the victim outside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release his identity once it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.

Police said it is believed the victim knew the suspect, who remained at large Friday.

The investigation is “active and ongoing,” police said.
