SANTA CRUZ >> Lester Quinones worked his magic yet again, and the Santa Cruz Warriors stayed hot by posting a 126-105 win over the Austin Spurs in NBA G League action Wednesday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

Quinones had 30 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double, which excited the 2,107 fans in attendance. It was the third time this season he has scored 30 points or more points.

With the win, the Warriors (10-9) climbed above .500 for the first time this season. They’ve won three straight games and are 5-1 in February. The teams square off again at KP Arena on Friday at 7 p.m.

Santa Cruz’s Jayce Johnson, a 7-foot center, had 19 points and a season-high 22 rebounds for his ninth double-double. His rebound total was two shy of the team record.

Jerome Robinson scored 22 points on his 26th birthday, JaQuori McLaughlin had 15 points and eight rebounds, and Jordan Schakel scored 11 points.

Earlier Wednesday, Santa Cruz announced that it added Armon Fletcher, Hyun-Jung Lee and Anthony Tarke as replacement players for Dusty Hannahs, Eli Pemberton and Gui Santos, who are away from the team while participating in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifying games. All three newcomers scored seven points, and Lee, a 6-7 guard out of Davidson, had nine rebounds.

Santa Cruz outrebounded the Spurs 66-34 and shot 46% (46 of 100) from the field while making 13 3-pointers.

Brandon Randolph scored 22 points to lead Austin (6-14). Jordan Hall scored 18 points, and Marcus Zegarowski scored 15 points.

Santa Cruz outscored the Spurs 36-24 in the second quarter to carry a 65-51 lead into the half. The Warriors extended their lead to as many as 23 points in the third quarter and never looked back.
