The man Boston police believe was shot in his car before the vehicle crashed in Roxbury has been identified.
Police officers responded to the 100-block of Ruthven Street in Roxbury at around 10 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person shot. There they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound who appeared to have been shot inside a vehicle that crashed at the scene.
That man was identified Saturday as Theo Vernice, 21, of Hyde Park. He was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy confirmed Vernice died of a gunshot wound.
