


Drug Possession Arrest: On Feb. 24 at around 11:20 p.m., an officer stopped a male who was riding a bicycle without a light in violation of the vehicle code. The male threw a baggie on the ground as the officer made contact. The substance inside the baggie was methamphetamine. The man was identified as 36-year-old Woodland resident Juan Carlos Reyes Ibarra. Ibarra was also on Searchable Probation. Ibarra was arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail for possession of methamphetamine and violation of Probation.
Homicide investigation update: On December 22, 2024, at 3:55 p.m., Woodland Police officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting on Baird Court near Powers Circle. Despite lifesaving efforts, the 19-year-old victim tragically passed away at UC Davis Medical Center. From the moment this investigation began, our Detectives committed themselves fully to seeking justice for the victim and their loved ones. Through relentless investigative work—reviewing evidence, following leads, and collaborating with our community—Detectives were able to develop a suspect. Their dedication and determination paid off.
In the early morning hours of February 25, 2025, at 4:41 a.m., after weeks of intensive investigation, Woodland PD Detectives, with the assistance of the Yolo County SWAT, served a search warrant at a residence on Powers Circle. This operation resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Miguel Garcia Duran for murder and the personal use of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was booked into the Yolo County Jail.

HOST made 32 contacts and offered services to 24 individuals; 11 accepted services.
HOST tagged 6 camps and cleaned up 4. HOST conducted 5 downtown patrols. Our Co-Responders and HOST Officers contacted an individual who was causing a disturbance at the hospital. The man did not have a medical need to be at the hospital; however, he did need medication clothing. During the contact, they reunited him with County Services, his medication, and other resources. The man was relocated to the shelter, and he was grateful for the help.
