Chris Brazzell II made a diving 16-yard touchdown catch from Nico Iamaleava midway through the fourth quarter as No. 11 Tennessee beat visiting No. 7 Alabama 24-17 on Saturday.

Dylan Sampson rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns for the Volunteers (6-1, 3-1 SEC).

The Crimson Tide (5-2, 2-2) have their work cut out for them the rest of the season. Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe struggled, connecting on 25 of 44 passes for 239 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Alabama rushed for just 89 yards compared to Tennessee’s 214.

Trailing 21-17, Alabama took over possession on its own 30 with 2:25 left. An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on wide receiver Kendrick Law stymied the Crimson Tide’s drive and allowed Tennessee to stretch the lead to seven with a field goal.

The Volunteers grabbed a 14-10 lead, their first of the game, with one minute left in the third when Sampson barreled in from three yards.

NO. 6 MIAMI 52, LOUISVILLE 45: Ajay Allen followed Cam Ward’s fourth touchdown pass with a 2-yard, go-ahead score early in the fourth quarter, Damien Martinez added a 30-yard insurance TD run with 4:05 remaining and the visiting Hurricanes held on for a wild victory.

Miami (7-0, 3-0 ACC) is off to its best start since beginning 10-0 in 2017.

The Hurricanes withstood several Louisville rallies from double-digit deficits, the last of which was Tyler Shough’s 4-yard TD pass to Duke Watson that tied the game at 38 early in the fourth.

Ward completed 21 of 32 passes for 319 yards.

Shough was 31 of 51 for 342 yards and four TDs.

NO. 8 LSU 34, ARKANSAS 10: Caden Durham ran for 101 yards and three touchdowns, Damian Ramos made four field goals, and the Tigers cruised at home.

LSU (6-1, 3-0 SEC) continued its stranglehold over the Razorbacks (4-3, 2-2) in the Battle for The Golden Boot series, securing its eighth win in the last nine meetings.

NO. 9 IOWA ST. 38, UCF 35: Rocco Becht scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 1-yard sneak with 30 seconds left, and Jontez Williams intercepted Jacurri Brown’s last pass to secure the Cyclones’ comeback home win.

Iowa State (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) matched the 1938 team for best start in program history.

UCF (3-4, 1-3) lost its fourth straight after leading by two touchdowns early in the third and rushing for 354 yards — a season-high 196 by RJ Harvey and 154 by Brown.

Becht completed a season-low 43% of his passes (20 of 46) and threw two interceptions, the first one returned for a touchdown.

No. 10 CLEMSON 48, VIRGINIA 31: Cade Klubnik threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers won their sixth straight with a home victory.

Olsen Patt-Henry had two TD catches and Phil Mafah ran for two short scores as Clemson (6-1) improved to 5-0 in the ACC, won for the 11th time in 12 games and beat Virginia (4-3, 2-2 ACC) for a seventh straight time.

NO. 12 NOTRE DAME 31, GEORGIA TECH 13: Riley Leonard bolstered the Fighting Irish’s playoff hopes by rushing for two touchdowns in a victory in Atlanta.

Jeremiyah Love added a TD run and defensive back Adon Shuler scored on a 36-yard interception return for Notre Dame (6-1). The Irish held Georgia Tech (5-3) to 64 rushing yards.

Leonard ran for 51 yards as Notre Dame extended its winning streak to five games.

NO. 14 TEXAS A&M 34, MISSISSIPPI ST. 24: Le’Veon Moss rushed for two touchdowns and the Aggies won on the road.

Moss had 65 yards on 17 carries. His 3-yard TD run gave Texas A&M a 31-17 lead with 3:24 left in the third.

The Aggies (6-1, 4-0 SEC) have won six in a row since losing to Notre Dame.

Michael Van Buren passed for 242 yards and three touchdowns for Mississippi State. (1-6, 0-4), which has dropped six in a row.

NO. 17 KANSAS ST. 45, WEST VIRGINIA 18: Avery Johnson threw three touchdown passes, Marques Sigle returned an interception for a score and the Wildcats won on the road over the Mountaineers (3-4, 2-2 Big 12).

Kansas State (6-1, 3-1 Big 12), which is off to its best start since 2014, got two TD runs from Big 12 rushing leader DJ Giddens.

No. 19 MISSOURI 21, AUBURN 17: Quarterback Brady Cook returned from an early injury to lead Missouri (6-1, 2-1 SEC) to two fourth-quarter TDs, including the go-ahead run by Jamal Roberts with 46 seconds to go, as it escaped with a home victory.

NO. 21 SMU 40, STANFORD 10: Kevin Jennings threw three long TD passes in the first quarter and the Mustangs (6-1, 3-0 ACC) beat the host Cardinal (2-5, 1-3).

Jennings set the tone with an 87-yard pass to Moochie Dixon on the first play from scrimmage. He added a 45-yarder to Key’Shawn Smith later in the opening quarter and then a 38-yarder to RJ Maryland to make it 21-0 before the end of the first quarter. He finished with 322 yards passing.

No. 23 ARMY 45, EAST CAROLINA 28: Bryson Daily rushed for a career-high five touchdowns and set Army’s single-season record for rushing TDs, helping the Black Knights win at home.

Daily had 171 yards on 31 carries in his sixth straight 100-yard rushing game. The senior, who also threw a touchdown pass, has 19 rushing TDs on the season.

The Black Knights (7-0, 6-0 AAC) extended the nation’s longest win streak to 11 games.

NO. 25 NAVY 51, CHARLOTTE 17: Dashaun Peele became the first Navy player to return two interceptions for touchdowns in a game, Blake Horvath threw three scoring passes and the host Midshipmen (6-0, 4-0 AAC) routed the 49ers (3-4, 2-1).

Navy improved to 6-0 for the first time since 1979 and is 4-0 in the AAC. The Midshipmen are bowl-eligible for the first time since 2019.
