Rivian SUV driver crashes into pet store
An individual drove a Rivian SUV into P.C.’s Pantry for Dogs and Cats in Boulder Wednesday.
There were no injuries to people or animals, according to Boulder Police and Fire-Rescue spokeswomen.
At 11:50 a.m., first responders were called to the store at 2828 30th St., which is across the street from Boulder Fire-Rescue Station 3, for a report of a car that crashed in the building, according to Boulder Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Jamie Barker and police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh.
The woman driving the Rivian is facing the charge of careless driving, and initial investigation shows that the cause of the crash might be medical, according to Waugh.
In SWAT scene, police take man into custody
At a scene where patrol and SWAT officers responded in Boulder, police safely took a suspect into custody without injury to anyone, according to the Boulder Police Department.
The suspect had active warrants for alleged possession of a weapon and trespassing, as well as a “previous criminal history involving robbery and drugs,” police said on the social media platform X on Wednesday afternoon.
“As in every criminal case, these charges are an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty,” the department wrote on X.
Earlier, Boulder police asked the public to avoid the 1400 block of Pine Street while they tried to contact an individual who may be armed. The late-afternoon update on X didn’t say whether the suspect was armed at the time police took him into custody.
In a post on X, Boulder police wrote that the individual was inside a residence. 14th Street between Spruce and Pine streets was closed while the operation was underway, according to Boulder police.
