June 15, 1936 - January 19, 2025 San Clemente, CA Barbara Mesa was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 15, 1936 to Mary Catherine Brown and George Michael Brown and had two sisters, Margaret and Francis.
At ayoung age she moved toEuclid, Ohio, and later, while in High School, relocated to Azusa, CA and attended Citrus Union High School. While in High School she met the love of her life Richard Mesa. They married in 1955 and spent 63 wonderful years together living mostly in San Clemente until Richards death in 2019.
They were blessed with two children, a daughter Cindy (Wolf) and a son Scott, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Cindy married Logan Wolf in 1984 and they have two children, Richard Wolf and Rachel Martinusen. Barbara was blessed with two great grandkids from Richard and Erin and two great grandkids from Rachel and Carter. Scott married Brenda (Moore) in 2005 and they have one child Cooper.
Barbara worked for 30 plus years in the radiology department at San Clemente General Hospital. She was also amember of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Tau Phi Chapter and has been involved in many organizations that help others in need. She was a kind and caring person who loved to be with family and friends. Her favorite day ofthe year was the Fourth of July! She had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed her social life with activities ranging from playing pinochle to having a glass of wine during cookouts at Dana Point Harbor or having dinner and drinks with great friends at the Dana West Yacht Club.
She was a great wife, mother Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend. She will be missed every day by all who knew her, but will once again be with the love of her life. Mom, we miss you greatly. You will be in all of our hearts forever, and someday wewill all meet again. We love you.
Services are being held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Dana Point on March 1st at 10:00 am. All are welcome.
