Nearly 100 vendors and four live music acts took over Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa on Saturday, July 25, for a one-night-only market featuring local Latino-owned businesses.

The event, called Market con Amigas, showcased food, arts, and crafts that are rarely featured in local public spaces.

Organized by small business owner Miriam Vazquez, the event grew out of her project Eventos con Amigas, an all-women networking group that meets monthly to support one another and share business strategies.

Market booths ranged from clothing, jewelry, and handmade crafts to food vendors serving up snacks and traditional street food. The music lineup featured reggae band Roots Fusion alongside norteño groups.

Vazquez said this event would serve as a trial for possible future markets in town.

The street market ran from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m.
