BART service in eastern Contra Costa County ran normally in time for the Monday morning commute, hours after a shooting at the Antioch station interrupted it late Sunday night.

Officials confirmed the on-time start to the morning commute and said the victim was expected to survive the wounds. Antioch police were assisting BART police with the investigation.

The shooting happened about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday. An ambulance took the victim to a hospital.

Police did not announce any arrests, nor did they say whether investigators believe it was a targeted shooting.

BART service between Antioch and Pittsburg/Bay point stopped following the shooting.
