It’s been a real struggle for temperatures to rise out of the 50s this month — the highest reading so far has been 57 degrees back on March 18.

On Wednesday, we might exceed that, at least inland with upper 50s possible.

A light easterly breeze off the lake may keep readings lower at the lakefront.

Six of the past eight days have seen below-normal temperatures here, and this trend will probably continue through the first week of April. Frequent periods of precipitation are ahead, and the cool weather will make it difficult to drop the word “snow” from our vocabulary.

On Thursday, Saturday and Monday, expect periods of rain or wet snow — no big storms, but constant reminders that winter just doesn’t yet want to give way to spring.
