OAKLAND >> Two victims were transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds following a shooting in Oakland on Sunday morning, according to authorities.

At least three people were sitting in a car at 77th and Garfield avenues, in the Eastmont neighborhood, when someone allegedly shot at the vehicle in what authorities described as a random attack. The shooting took place at 4:47 a.m.

One of the people in the car, whose condition was unknown, drove the gunshot victims, an 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man, to a hospital, authorities said.

According to the Oakland Police Officer’s Association, the victims were siblings and the person driving the car was their father. The family was headed to “sell wares” at the Oakland Swap Meet near the Coliseum, according to the OPOA.

Both victims were in critical condition as of Sunday morning, the leaders of the police union said.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect information has been released by police.
