San Jose, California

Karen Jan Bryant passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Salinas, California, Karen cherished her upbringing in the countryside.

She attended Salinas High School, where she met the love of her life, Paul. She held her high school friendships close to her heart and never missed a reunion, always enjoying time with her cherished friends.

After putting her husband through college, or as she called it, earning her “PhT,” Karen and Paul settled in San Jose, California, where they raised their family and many beloved pets. Karen dedicated herself to being a homemaker and a travel agent. She fondly recalled her time spent traveling, whether with her family, her husband, or her fellow travel agents—some of her happiest memories were made during those adventures near and far. But, among all these travels, her trips to Kauai with Paul held the most special place in her heart. Karen continued her commitment to her family throughout her retirement by supporting her grandchildren with their endless afterschool activities or lavishly doting on them after a summer swim in their backyard pool. She was also an active parishioner at Holy Spirit Church, making lasting friendships and participating in various service ministries.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Paul, daughters Tracy Bryant and Paula Ramos (Louie), grandchildren Lauren (Pablo), Leslie (Aaron), Marco (Kevin), and Alex (Katie), and great-grandchildren Jason, Zoe, Vea, Tate, and Parker.

Her warm charm, cheerful disposition, and easy-going nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Karen had an exceptional ability to find joy and contentment in any situation, a quality that will forever be remembered.

Friends and family are invited to a service at Holy Spirit Church in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, April 9th at 10:00 AM.
